These two get married, TOMORROW! We seriously can't wait for tomorrow! Since they're getting married tomorrow, I figured now would be a great time to blog their engagement photos we did with them early this year in Dahlonega, Ga.
Lauren was one of the amazing bridesmaids in Taylor+Blake's Wedding we photographed last July and she loved the way Charlie and I worked. So when Tyler proposed to her, we were lucky enough to get an email from her asking for us to be their photographers as well! We are truly honored to be photographing their day tomorrow! Photographing weddings of friends of past clients is probably one of the biggest compliments we could ever receive. I absolutely love it!
Lauren really wanted to try to have their engagement session done in the mountains with the hopes of there being snow on the ground. We missed the snow by just a few weeks which was a bit of a bummer, but their session still turned out stunning!
We met in Downtown Dahlonega and toured around the cute town for the first portion of their session. I loved shooting in Dahlonega and would be thrilled to go back again for more photos!;) For our next portion of the session, Lauren said she was up for being adventurous and wanted to do some overlook photos on a mountain. We were totally up for adventure as well and chose to hike to the top of Preacher's Rock for these overlook photos!
We read that the hike was short and moderately easy....um....it was not. It was definitely a HIKE and got really steep towards the top, which is expected, but was still surprising tricky. To show just how amazing Lauren and Tyler are, they did this hike in FORMAL WEAR! Yes. Formal wear. Lauren traded her heels for sneakers in between photos and hiked the whole thing in her formal dress. Tyler did the whole thing in a suit and sneakers and also switched between dress shoes and sneakers! (See the last photo of their hiking attire!;) We couldn't thank them enough for doing this. They worked hard for these photos and we truly appreciated their effort to go above and beyond for their photos! They showed us they trusted our vision and that just means the world to us.
At the top of the mountain, we reached the overlook and were blown away by it's beauty. We got there just in time for the perfect light over the mountains while the light fog was starting to roll in. I love the way these photos turned out! It was exactly what our vision was and I was thrilled to hear that Lauren and Tyler fell in love with them too. All that hard work certainly paid off. It's always worth it to be a little adventurous and take a hike;)
